1. Introduction

Personal Finance Dashboard ("we," "our," or "the Service") is a personal financial management application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Name and email address provided through Google OAuth via Clerk authentication.
  • Financial data: Brokerage holdings, account balances, transaction history, and net worth snapshots that you import or enter into the Service.
  • Brokerage connections: If you connect a brokerage account through a third-party integration (e.g., SnapTrade or a broker API), we receive read-only access to your account holdings and balances. We never receive or store your brokerage login credentials.
  • Accounting data: If you connect an accounting platform (e.g., QuickBooks Online), we receive read-only access to financial reports, chart-of-accounts data, and company information for the entities you authorize.
  • Usage data: Basic request logs and error information necessary to operate and debug the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

  • Display your financial data within the dashboard.
  • Compute portfolio analytics, optimization results, and rebalancing suggestions.
  • Track net worth and budget information over time.
  • Generate business valuation estimates from accounting data.
  • Authenticate your identity and protect your account.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a Neon serverless Postgres database. The application is hosted on Vercel. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use Clerk for authentication, which provides industry-standard security practices including encrypted session management.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers:

  • Clerk — Authentication and user management.
  • Neon — Database hosting.
  • Vercel — Application hosting.
  • SnapTrade — Brokerage account connectivity (optional).
  • Intuit / QuickBooks Online — Accounting data connectivity (optional).

Each third-party service is subject to its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary to operate each integration.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your financial data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, all personal and financial data will be permanently removed from our systems.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Disconnect any linked brokerage or accounting accounts at any time.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
